Gown and Fitted Doublet Body Size Guide

Measure over the underlayer you intend to wear. Measure bust around its fullest part, natural waist around the narrowest part of the torso, and hip around the fullest part of the seat. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug.

Choose the largest size indicated by bust, waist or hip. The rows describe wearer measurements; finished garment dimensions vary by design.

For Avelin, check the shaped waist and upper-hip coverage. For Briar Gate, check the laced torso over your chosen underdress; lacing is not a substitute for selecting the right bust and waist range. For Lantern Hall, check the shoulder-to-hem length and sleeve coverage of the fuller gown. For the sideless Marl Fen, check shoulder-bridge placement, side-opening depth and the hip fit where the skirt joins.

Measure the intended length from the high shoulder point beside the neck to the hem, wearing your event footwear. For sleeved designs, record shoulder-to-wrist length with the elbow slightly bent. If you need exact finished garment or opening measurements, contact us before ordering.

Briar Gate is a front-laced medieval-inspired overgown with a shaped bodice, long sleeves and a flowing skirt. The lower front opens to show the separate dress beneath.

Design and details

The lacing is limited to the torso. Vertical bodice seams shape the waist, and skirt gores widen the hem below. A modest neckline and plain long sleeves keep the front lacing in focus.

Wool-based outer fabric with facings at the bodice and forearms, reinforced front lacing openings and cotton lacing cord.
